After sailing into a beautiful Hawaiian sunset onboard a spacious 45 foot trimaran, you will head for the World Famous Manta Ray Village. The Travel Channel says, "It's one of the top ten things to do in your lifetime." Itinerary Enjoy a beautiful Hawaiian sunset aboard the Hokulani, as you sail from Keauhou Bay into the setting sun (sailing times vary according to sunset). Be sure to have your camera ready to catch a glimpse of the elusive green flash. After the sunset we drop sail and head for the World Famous Manta Ray Village. The Travel Channel says," It's one of the top ten things to do in your lifetime", and Sea Paradise has been offering its guests the opportunity to get up close and personal with these majestic manta rays since 1985, making Sea Paradise an original tour expert in Hawaii. Pickup Check In at the Sea Paradise store (call the store for seasonal check in times) located at 78-6831 Alii Drive Suite #144 Kailua Kona, Hi 96740 located in the Keauhou Shopping Center. We will then issue you boarding passes, get you fitted into a wetsuit for our snorkeling guests (be sure to wear swim attire for the fitting), and give you driving directions to meet the boat for departure at Keauhou Bay. Drop Off Return to Keauhou Bay approximately two hours from departure time. Things To Bring We have plenty of room to stow gear and keep it dry. Be sure to dress comfortably. Sea Paradise operates a "shoe-less boat" so wear sandals or shoes that are easy to remove. We suggest you bring: swim wear, towel, cover up, light jacket or sweater for after you're out of the water, and you may also bring an underwater camera just make sure the flash is turned off. Gratuity is not included in the price of the tour but tips are greatly appreciated. Inclusions Hot cocoa, chocolates, water, soft drinks, and local juices In the Water Once you reach the Manta Ray Village, the staff will provide a knowledgeable and professional briefing on the manta rays. For our snorkeling guests, our staff will prepare and guide you onto our state of the art "manta floatation device". Here guests of all ages and skill levels can hold onto our float that rests above the majestic manta rays as they feed on the microscopic plankton that rises from the bottom of the ocean at night and is attracted to the light source attached to our float. As your incredible snorkel experience comes to an end, our staff will guide you back onboard for some light snacks or a warm cup of hot cocoa. Snorkel time is approximatelly 1 hour. For our ride along guests, you will watch the majestic manta rays as they feed on the microscopic plankton, from the comfort of our 45 foot trimaran in the World Famous Manta Ray Village. Guidelines for your Manta Experience 1. Observe only—no touching! Contact may damage mantas' protective membrane and cause injury. 2. Do not chase, grab or try to ride mantas. 3. Stay on the surface—don’t dive down to where they feed. 4. Snorkel horizontally—avoid dangling feet kicking the mantas. 5. Taking photos & video is encouraged but please be courteous to other snorkelers, divers and, especially, to the mantas. Duration: 2 hours times vary with the seaons, please call for correct times.
